Sue Bernath joins the Carolina Dance Capital family with a 35+ year teaching career.
She originally began her studies with the Atlanta Ballet under the direction of Robert Barnett, Merilee Smith & Dorothy Alexander.
Sue attended the University of Oklahoma under Miguel Terkov & Yvonne Choteau, and the University of Texas under Igor Youskeritch. She has also studied with David Blair (Royal ballet), David Howard & William Griffith (ABT), Murriel Stuart (NYC ballet) and many more.
Miss Sue danced professionally in Contemporary Dance Companies, movies, summer stock and industrial shows.
For 14 years she owned two successful studios in the Miami area, and co-directed Miami Dance Theatre’s Junior Company & Dance Horizon’s children’s Dance Company.
Sue is a skilled choreographer and teaches many master classes around the country.
She is a well recognized judge on the competition circuit and judges throughout the United States.
Many of her former students are currently performing on Broadway, and can be seen in TV and film work.
Miss Sue is thrilled to join the Carolina Dance Capital staff and can’t wait to share her wealth of knowledge and love for the art of dance with her students.
